As many of you most likely noticed, indecent disclosure took a bit of a break over the summer. What can I say, I’ve been too busy causing trouble and raising hell to actually sit down and string together a decent blog post. (When it comes down to it though, quality is better than quantity right? – at least that’s what I tell myself to lessen the guilt over my chronic procrastination.) But is it procrastination REALLY, or is it the fact that my 25th birthday / quarter life crisis is on the horizon causing me to more carefully scrutinize where my life is headed and how I spend my time.

Unfortunately I think it’s the latter.

With my 25th birthday… I will be celebrating 10 years in the music industry! (yep, I was corrupted by the dirty bass at the tender age of 15) This anniversary begs the question… “Do I really want another 25 years of working in worlds most consistently shallow, cut throat, vain, and selfish industry, especially when making money from it is increasingly harder by the day? I’m starting to think that anyone who does needs to have their heads checked by a professional. Seriously… if you’re a dance music producer / dj… ask yourself “What have I contributed to society”… and don’t say music, because I guarantee you 5 years from now NO ONE will remember that tune you made that sold 300 copies on beatport. Don’t say “slammin’ DJ sets” either… Come on?! Do you really want to be known for playing OTHER PEOPLE’S MUSIC (glorified breathing jukebox) to a bunch of wreck-heads?

Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with doing either of those… but 5 years from now when I turn 30… I want to be able to look back on my life and say that I did something more awesome than JUST working as an entertainer to indulge my own narcissistic tendencies. Sadly… I don’t think many people who have made a life out of this scene can…and what a tragic waste of life that is.
So I leave you with this thought dear readers… When your time is up on this planet… what will your legacy be?

I hope for all of you it’s something greater than messy nights out and music that no one will remember in 10 years time.

Anyways… Summer is over, and it’s October now and in the spirit of the season this month’s blog is dedicated to my most favorite holiday of the year… Halloween!
Lets start with some recommended listening.

Ant Brooks & Filthy Rich : Voodoo

Yep… I’m still very much bitten by the tribal bug. One thing I love about this track is that it’s still quite “bangin” which seems to be an element that is often missing from this genre. I totally feel like I could drop this peak time without getting any puzzled looks from the dance floor. This is out on beatport now… GO GRAB IT

Another honorable mention for the month, also courtesy of Mr. Brooks

Lil Louis – French Kiss (Ant Brooks XXL Rerub

Ok so the original is a bit of a guilty pleasure, and I really never imagined that ANYONE could remix it better than Ed Rush and Optical (what a pleasant surprise to be wrong in this case!) Seriously, what’s not to love about this? DURTY house … HOT orgasm breakdown… if this isn’t the single most fun track to drop mid set so you can watch the more prudish partygoers flush with embarrassment I don’t know what is. Hats off to Ant… keep the bangers coming!

And last but certainly not least! A teaser (yeah… because that’s what I do best) of a forthcoming track from my Honey Dylan Rhymes titled “KAPOW!”

This tasty electro banger will be dropping on Lot49 in the near future… check http://www.facebook.com/dylanrhymes for more info!

And while we’re on the topic of ‘things you need to check out’ I would like to ask the question… what would Halloween be without scary movies? Exactly! Its almost traditional! That being said here are my top 3 horror flick picks of the month and the reasons why you should watch them…

1. The Human Centipede – You’ve got to tip your hat to anyone that can take the concept of “ass to mouth” and turn it into a credible horror flick. I’m not going to say too much about this film for fear of spoiling it, but if you’re one of those types (like me) who considers yourself impossible to scare, who considers yourself impossible to shock… then this film is for you. Afterall… what could be more frightening than the thought of having your mouth surgically connected to someone else’s anus so that you would be forced to survive on a diet consisting only of their feces…. Yeah… that pretty much takes the cake now doesn’t it? Not for the unseasoned fan of horror.

2. The Crazies – Zombies… almost as overdone as vampires. This however isn’t your typical zombie movie. An intense watch from start to finish, great acting and complete with a storyline that could actually be believable (if you’re a tinfoil hat wearing conspiracy nut that is). Well worth a watch.

3. 30 Days of night (Dark Days) – When I found out they had made a sequel to 30 days of night, my initial reaction was “OH NO! NOT ANOTHER VAMPIRE MOVIE! How many more times is the film industry going to try to capitalize off of the whole True Blood, Twilight undead trend? I’ll admit, I went into this movie with no high expectations and came out of it pleasantly surprised. If you’re not a fan of Stephanie Meyer’s sparkly, fangless, vegetarian blood suckers then this film is for you! Violence, sex, gore, and great cinematography… 30 Days of Night (Dark Days) has it all!

And that concludes this month’s issue of Indecent Disclosure.
Until next time…

Stalk Me:

So… Burning Man, for those who have never been… It’s kind of hard to describe. No amount of photography or eloquent writing can adequately capture the beauty and the insanity that is this weeklong event. Hosted in a prehistoric lakebed in the middle of fucking nowhere Nevada, Burning Man is not for the lighthearted, unseasoned party kid or those who are uncomfortable in the face of nudity.

I once heard someone say, “Burning Man is the best adult summer camp in the world” and while it may very well be “the ONLY adult summer camp in the world” I had to agree with that statement. There’s theme camps where you can beat the shit out of someone, have your beaver shaved, play dress up, make dildos, swap your soul mate for the week, engage in naked trampolining, or play with flame throwers (among a bazillion other things!)

And did I mention there’s a free bar on every corner?

The sky really is the limit when you have an even that is 100% participant driven.

There was heaps of art to be seen, felt, climbed upon and devoured by both the eyes and the mind. My favorite installation being a giant metal sculpture of the word “Oink” followed closely by a herd of modified mannequins juxtaposed amongst traffic lights and park benches in the open playa to form a scene that looked eerily like a pre-explosion test town from a nuclear test facility.
These are some of my favorite photographed moments from the event, I only wish they did more to capture the scale and vibe of Black Rock City’s temporary Utopian society.

Everyone should experience Burning Man in all it’s glory at least once before they die. If not life
changing, it will be the best party you’ve ever been to.

Enjoy the pics…

Calling all producers!
We at Lot49 HQ are pleased to announce the hosting of a remix contest for Odissi’s forthcoming single “Red Headed Devil Woman”. The winning entry will be featured on the Lot49 Anniversary Compilation, mixed by Meat Katie (and a lap dance from Lee Coombs). All musical styles accepted. Deadline November 1st 2010. Please submit entries via soundcloud to http://soundcloud.com/odissi/dropbox/

(Because I’ve had a few requests for these….)

*Note* Yep… that’s right! All you get is the acappella and there’s no previews of the original… I want people to think outside the box on this… to produce a track around the vocal with no influence from the original. Im looking for artistic / creative interpretations of my lyricism rather than a rehashing and re-arranging the parts/ideas I already used. (It’s not as ‘bizarre’ as it seems… I can think of many instances where all the parts of a remix pack have been ‘binned off’ and just one element was used.) It may be a bit more of a challenge than your average remix contest… but this is a chance for the “real producers” out there to shine!

Good luck! I look forward to hearing your entries!

The Journey Begins….

My three week tour of the Northwest started out the way most of my misadventures do, with some kind of airport purgatory. I’m convinced that I did something to put my travel karma in the negative… Maybe it was the time I hit the small child sitting next to me in my sleep on a hungover EasyJet flight from Toulouse thinking it’s crying was the sound of an alarm clock that desperately needed turning off. Maybe it was the time I traumatized a sweet middle aged flight attendant when she caught me getting freaky with my man under one of the complementary in flight blankets… Or maybe I’m just plane unlucky when it comes to airplanes, but however you want to justify it… having a flight cancelled and being rerouted through 4 different states on a journey that must begin at 3 in the fucking morning if you want to reach your destination by midnight is not only inhumane but really freaking uncool.

But alas, 12 hours later I eventually made it from my temporary home in sunny Santa Rosa Beach, Florida to the glorious Potatoland, (a.k.a.) Boise, Idaho…

It may seem a random destination for a globe trotting musician… but I’ve been looking forward to this trip since last year, when I first met the amazing group of people who would be adopting me for the next 3 weeks.

After a day of rest and a happy reunion with my (for the moment) long distance lover / boyfriend / partner in crime we found ourselves on the road towards the first stop on our mission to bring loud music, mayhem, silly accents, and debauchery to the stereotypically conservative North Western, States of America.

Esthetic Evelution in Twin Springs Idaho… From here on out there’s no turning back…

Esthetic Evolution was an interesting festival experience. It reminded me very much of a mini Burning Man as it was based around theme camps with no shortage of flame throwers and an eclectic mix of people and pyromaniacs alike. There were even some familiar sights that admittedly looked a little out of place away from their dusty homes on the Black Rock City Playa, (the Ganesh Art Car, the Altitude Lounge and the beloved “Bacon Camp” for instance). It was a bit dirty, a bit messy, and a bit chaotic… but all in all it was a great warm up for the weekends ahead, Meat Katie rocked the Main Stage on Saturday night, while myself and Dylan Rhymes threw down a surprise back to back set on the Ganesh Art Car… (not long after we were busted getting jiggy in the cabin showers… oops! Let that be a lesson learned… always check to make sure the door is locked)

Salt Lake City – Suicide Girls, Blue Fluffy Drinks of Doom, Expensive Habits and my Giant White Penis….

After a blurry week of post festival recovery back in Boise and a shaky departure due to a dead battery in an RV…

(How many mongs does it take to move a Winnebego?)

…. Like watching monkeys in a zoo isn’t it?

I found myself headed toward another seemingly bizarre destination. Salt Lake City, land of ludicrous drinking laws, the Mormon faith, and ridiculously hot tattooed ladies. The party started (literally) the moment I stepped foot inside the venue as I had arranged a hot date with Eaksie Suicide for some naughty double photoshoot action before the club was set to open that evening.

I’m afraid you’re only going to get a couple of teasers here… that being said if you’re lucky enough to have a full membership to Suicidegirls.com you can certainly see the entire shoot (50 pictures or so) when it’s submitted within the coming weeks.

Our photoshoot was themed “Expensive Habbits” and was shot by http://www.natdes.com/

(Hot huh? God I can’t wait to see the final set when it’s all done and polished!) *Excited*

Anyways…
Once that was out of the way it was business as usual as far as club nights go…

and strangely it wasn’t until after the party that things started to get interesting.
After a failed attempt to continue to the afterparty, we ventured from the Venue (The Hotel) back to … well… the hotel… or the “Crack Shack” as we affectionately named our Motel 6 accommodation, and then onwards to Denny’s for a greasy late night breakfast in an attempt to quash our impending hangovers. (Did I mention that I had an 8AM flight to Seattle in the morning?) Uff….

On the way back to the hotel we were harassed by a scary hobo… Luckily our fearless leader, Justin the Brave, was there to fend him off with the Quiltonian Force!
(All hail the drunk and easily amused… )

Seattle…(AKA The City I Rather Not Talk About…)

I should have known Seattle was going to be “One of those trips” when I was told off at the airport at 6AM in the morning for sitting in the “Handicapped and Special Needs” section at my departure gate. My response of course was something along the lines of “Hey Lady, given the amount of alcohol I consumed last night, “Special Needs” is actually a very accurate description of my current mental state.

I spent my morning in Seattle nursing my hangover whilst watching “Alice in Wonderland, The Musical Porn” (YES… Such a thing does exist! and if you don’t own a copy already I suggest you add this to your DVD collection immediately!)

That was followed by a fairly civilized lunch with the girls… which somehow turned into a not so civilized girls night in, during which my dearest girlfriend Becky introduced me to my neweset alcoholic love… Absinthe cocktails! Yummy!

The next morning things started to go downhill… Starting with England’s disastrous world cup performance, continuing on to a rough DJ gig at Contour, and finally ending with the trauma of my suitcase being stolen out of my friend’s car. Wh0oo! Ok… So I guess every night can’t be awesome. I’m slightly annoyed that some crack head is prolly wearing my expensive Agent Provocateur lingerie on his head whilst wandering around Downtown Seattle, but I guess that’s just another life lesson to be learnt… never leave valuables in a car that has a dodgy lock. *sigh*

Adventure Mongs invade Riggins Idaho…

With every cloud there is a sliver lining… The stolen bag presented me with a good excuse to go shopping (and what girl doesn’t love shopping right?)

A trip to the mall and a new wardrobe later and once again the crew and camping gear were piled into cars for a road trip to (middle of fucking nowhere) Riggins Idaho. Actually I feel kind of bad calling it the middle of nowhere, it sounds derogatory. In all honestly, Riggins Idaho was one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever had the pleasure of visiting (and that says a lot coming from someone who is fast running out of room for stamps in her passport). Thursday we were given the opportunity to experience this wild and rustic landscape the way it was MEANT to be experienced, with a heavy dose of action and adventure… Idaho style.

A Helicopter ride, a near death white water rafting experience, and an evening of sipping 44 north (Idaho’s own huckleberry flavored vodka) cocktails around a hot spring jacuzzi secured this event an award for most memorable and awesome DJ gig experience of all time! Once again big love to those who made it all possible… It may seem like the last place on earth you would ever expect to have an electronic music festival, but for the avid adventurer and music connoisseur wild venue really does have everything you could possible want from a festival experience and more. Watching the sun set on the Thursday night before the party I couldn’t help but think the promoters hit the nail on the head when they named this unusual event “Utopia”.

As for the party itself.
Friday Night I had the pleasure of rocking the poolside for one of the most lively, up for it crowds I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing to. This really was one of those special DJ experiences, one I’ll look back on and treasure for years to come. For those who missed it, or those who were there and want to relive the evening… I uploaded a recording of my set which can be downloaded here: odissimixportal.blogspot.com PLAY IT LOUD! :)

Saturday night the awesome knob was cranked +10 when Dylan Rhymes took over the controls to deliver a solid hour and a half of underground electro bangers… A perfect set up to a late night of laughs shared with both old and new friends for life. Sometimes the stars align and for a moment everything just seems “right”. This was one of those times.

Sunday morning was spent lazing in the hazy afterglow of post party awesomeness, enjoying the last day of sunshine and driving bass as it bellowed through the canyon.

And just like that, as quickly as it started the adventure was over.

The Northwest of America is home to some of the most beautiful, genuine and amazing people I’ve ever come across in my travels. This off the beaten path destination is often overlooked in the snobbishly cosmopolitan world of club nights that tend to only give praise to the obvious costal areas and big cities where superstar DJs are a dime a dozen. I’ve only just got back to the reality of normal sleeping patterns and a familiar bed, but already I find myself anxiously awaiting my next excursion to the region when I go back in a little over a months time for a road trip from Boise to my other “home” in the middle of the Nevada, Desert.

Big love to everyone who made the past 3 weeks happen. You lot really are the best…. but I have a feeling you already knew that.

Until next time.
XOXO
Hailey

As I write this, I sit behind the DJ booth at a small club / bar in seattle. No of course Im not writing WHILE playing… I would need several arms for that and god knows Im shit when it comes to multi-tasking.
Why am I being a geek rather than dancing / drinking / having a laugh?
Because I’m sulking in the corner trying to let my rage subside before I go all homicidal and shit. (Hey it’s possible…. this is like, day three running on little sleep, a diet consisting of nothing more than alcohol and fried food, and to make things worse it’s “that time of the month” meaning i have a temporary license to be a raging B.I.T.C.H. if I want…

Today has been one big FAIL from the start! I broke my most favorite bracelet :( Im having bizarre channel loudness issues with my brand new soundcard… (FUCK YOU FOCUSRITE), I’ve just found out my suitcase was stolen out of a friends car… meaning im on tour for another week and a half.. and have NO CLOTHES other than the ones I have on, oh… and I was just kicked off the decks early for “playing techno at a “supposed” breaks night”…… Lets start there shall we… Im kicking This edition of Indecent Disclosure with a special multi series advice sheet that I’ve made for promoters in hopes that epic fails of this sort never happen again. (please pass this around)

Right now that I’ve vented, taken 2klonopin and feel a touch better I can move on to more interesting topics.

Recommended listening this month comes courtesy of Dylan Rhymes and a live recording of his DJ set at Fabric London (from this party)

Possibly his last ever set at the london super club as rumors have been flying round that both Fabric and Matter are set to go into administration.) Personally I wont be crying… to me Fabric was always an over priced, over-rated monster of a venue filled with mongol hoards of chavs, annoying drunk city birds and lecherous city boys. Give me an intimate grimy underground venue over the likes of Fabric any day! That’s not to say the venue has ever had a lacking of quality music coming and going from behind their decks weekend after weekend. Grab this mix for an hour of in your face peak time party bangers from here:
www.dylanrhymes.com

Moving right along….

This Month’s Eye Candy feature is dedicated to the “Art Cars” of Burning Man (What can I say… I’ve got Playa Dust on the brain as the summer festival season draws to an end and the Burn draws near… God I cant wait to go home )'(

Well kids.. thats all from me… Official tour diary update from my Nort West Tour coming soon!
PS… THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO BOUGHT MY CHARITY PRINTS TO SUPPORT TWLOHA! all in all we raised $220 to support their cause :) Big hugs to everyone involved… YOU ROCK!

xoxo

Stalk Me:

Well my procrastination has won this time. It’s May 31st and Im only JUST NOW getting around to writing the next edition of Indecent Disclosure. The reason behind my unforgivable lateness? I’ve been too busy getting tattooed, feeding alligators, rediscovering my love for southern rock, taking photos of roadkill and engaging in lesbian hot wax bondage torture on the doorstep of the local church. In summary I’ve been a bit busy raising hell in Florida

Better late than never though! That being said I’m back to deliver good music and fantastic art finds from the far corners of the internet

BUT BEFORE I DO ANY OF THAT.
I would like to take a moment to talk about the following.
As you know I’m a girl of many talents… one of those talents being Modeling (or rather… getting naked in the name of art and classy masturbation material for suicidegirls.com.)

I’ve had A LOT of requests for prints since I’ve started on this journey so to commemorate my first full year as a Suicide Girl I’m giving into demands and selling limited edition pin-up prints for charity. Proceeds will go to TWLOHA a charity dedicated to presenting hope and finding help for people struggling with depression, addiction, self-injusry and suicide. TWLOHA exists to encourage, inform, inspire and also to invest directly into treatment and recovery. This is a cause that is super close to my heart as I’ve fought my own battles with mental demons in the not so distant past

For this project I teamed up with my favorite photographer http://www.dijitil.com for a rather daring evening of shooting erotica on the doorstep of the Seaside Florida’s Local Church. (The road to Hell is paved with good intentions?)

The photo series is appropriately titled “Have Mercy” and prints are available in 8x10s for $20 or as 9x13s for $25

(larger sizes available upon request)

All prints come professionally printed on high quality gloss finish photo paper with a personalized, hand written thank you note and a CD copy of my “Sex & Circuitry” electro rock album (co. written by former Prodigy/Pitchshifter guitarist Jim Davies) which as a bonus features 2 never before released tracks!

So there you have it! Good music, good art and most importantly GOOD KARMA!

Email designbyodissi (at) hotmail (dot) co (dot) uk Subject line: “PRINT REQUEST” for more info. :) and check out the twloha website for more information on the awesome things they do as a charity. http://www.twloha.com/vision/

Now that that’s out of the way… lets talk about music.
Call me fussy… but I’m struggling to find things worthy of a vigorous speaker hump these days. Where has all the good music gone?? Every time I go to beatport I feel let down by never-ending streams is cheesy, disposable and uninspiring music. (Look at me! Im turning into the Simon Cowell of the dance scene) That being said, The following release was like a breath of fresh air when I accidentally stumbled upon it.

While the Original is good… The Timo Huener Remix is absolute GOLD! (Sadly I cant find a Soundcloud link for it… but if you check BigCityBeat’s promo page you can hear all the tracks on the package… no word of a lie I think I’d find space for every single mix in my DJ sets… BIG CITY BEATS . DE
Check it out! Then get your ass over to beatport to show some support to keep the good music flowing!

And for those reading this who aren’t DJs and find no use for clubland singles I submit to you the following ipod material:

This is my latest mix which happens to be a live recording from a recent gig in the UK Channel Islands… 13 Techno Bangers mixed together for your listening pleasure… Go here >> ODISSI MIX PORTAL

(as you can see from the photos above… I’ve recently acquired some more ink of my own and therefor I’ve gained a new respect and fascination for the art of tattooing. Check these awesome displays of forward thinking body modification, Awesome huh?)

Thats all from me this time around… Next edition should be jam packed with awesomesauce as next month im going to Idaho with team Lot49 for a ‘raver holiday’… tales of debauchery (aka a tour diary) to follow…
Until next time

XOXO

Stalk Me:

No need to start planning my funeral you sick fucks. No… I didn’t OD at SXSW…No…. I didn’t convert to Christianity and run away to one of those scary Middle American “God Farms” No… I wasn’t kidnapped and held ransom by a gang of lesbian hillbilly freaks and i sure as hell wasn’t abducted by anal probing aliens. That’s right I’m still alive and actually back in London. (Home Sweet Home)…For the moment at least

Yeah I know, So this month’s issue of Indecent disclosure is a bit later than usual…deal with it… I’ve been jetlagged and crazy busy. *she says grumpily as she stares at her mile long to-do list that is has been preventing her from going outside and enjoying the first decent bit of weather England has seen in ages…*

Sigh….
March and the first couple weeks of April were a fabulous blur of airport lounges, late nights, loud music and shameless intoxication. Unfortunately for me I was just starting to enjoy a regular sleep schedule and the comfort of a familiar bed when the realization hit me that from Friday I get to start the process all over again.

Ahh the tribulations that accompany a career as a touring musician…
(file this away under First World Problems)

As the calendar page turns at the end of this month, May and June promise to bring with them new chapters of adventure and mishaps to my already exceedingly colorful life. More late nights, more travel, beach party gigs in my old Florida stomping grounds, a couple of pre-Burn festivals out in Idaho and a little DJ Tour of the Northwestern states (details to be announced soon) to look forward to. As for any spare time between those events… I intend to spend it on the beach, in a comfy beach chair, under a big umbrella, mac book pro powered studio in my lap working on my album whilst I sip fruity alcoholic beverages and check out hot surfer boys…

(ok… so I was kidding about the fruity alcoholic beverages and the checking out hot surfer boys part, but I definitely intend to put some production hours in on the beach…try to catch a vibe from the surroundings and all that.
And besides my gullible internet lovelies…you should all know by now that I prefer my men over the age of 35 complete with grey hair and a studio tan…AND GOD KNOWS it will more likely be Jager from the bottle if any form of creative intoxication is to be involved.**

Ok enough about me… onto the blog…

Im gonna start this off with a bit of recommended listening… (actually I’ve got lots of recommended listening for you guys this time around.)

While admittedly I was too busy either recovering from or partying at my own gigs to really get out and enjoy the array of amazing underground talent that SXSW has to offer, I did manage to devote at least one evening to barhopping with my label mates. For the Electronic Music crew that end up at SXSW such a afternoon can be quite an interesting experience…After stumbling into (and very quickly stumbling out of) what appeared to be some kind of cowboy style blues bar we ended up at a venue called Emos (with expectations that music would be as ominous as the name implied.)

What a pleasant and unexpected surprise we got as we were greeted by pure, upbeat, audio ear candy being dished out by The Royal Bangs.

Im not entirely sure what genre this quirky 3 piece from Knoxville should be filed into…. Completely original “Indie Nu-funk Psychedelic Electro Party Music” made even more captivating by the quirky voice and epic keyboard/sequencing skills of their front man. The majority of the bass being played live was synthetic… which the producer geek in me LOVED because it gave their overall sound the kind of warm-gooey stomach shaking heaviness that any dance music lover could totally appreciate. From my own experience in a hybrid type band… I know how difficult it is to get that balance right… That being said, Royal Bangs I salut you for pulling it off flawlessly.

Check the awesomely trippy video for their track “War Bells” below, then watch the other video of their live gig at Emo’s and see why I was so instantly smitten by these guys.

More @ Myspace.com/RoyalBangs

Speaking of SXSW, for those who couldn’t be there to witness my set at the Lot49 Label showcase…
Im pleased to announce that I’ve got a recording of it available for download to anyone who wishes to relive the moment. (for added effect add 2-3 shots of tequila)

Moving right along now….

This month’s eyecandy feature is dedicated to Laurie Lipton.
I’ve been a fan of this artist ever since I stumbled across her work in the pages of Juxtapoz a fair few years back. I love her even more now that she’s teamed up with my favorite clothing line All Saints
Roll on payday! I’ll be buying all of these
Her drawings are a beautiful combination of the morbid and the surreal. Below are some of my faves….
Laurielipton.com

Im going to wrap this one up with something a bit random. In addition to raising hell, making music, getting my tits out and globe trotting… I also have a passion for cooking…. Those who follow me on twitter are most likely already aware of this as I tend to tweet images of my creations from time to time. I’ve had a load of requests for the recipe to this beauty….

which I like to call “The Strawberry Sex Cake of Doom” ….
That being said, I’ve decided to share it…. Stoners and Domestic Divas take note! It seriously tastes as good as it looks!

Ingredients
2oz (50g) butter
10 honey glazed graham crackers
A handful of chopped pecans
3 tablespoons of caster sugar
2 large eggs
3 teaspoons of vanilla extract
142ml of sour cream
strawberries
blueberries
bakers white chocolate

First melt the butter, then crush the graham crackers to fine crumbs. Combine them with the melted butter and chopped pecans then press the mixture evenly over the base of a lightly oiled pie tin. (I use the disposable tinfoil ones… less crap to wash up)

In a mixing bowl beat the cream cheese and 2 tablespoons of caster sugar together until it’s smooth. Next beat in the eggs and the vanilla extract and pour it into the pie tin over your base.

Bake on the center shelf for 25-30mins at 350 degrees….

While it’s baking… mix your soured cream with 1 tablespoon of caster sugar, when the time is up… crank the oven temperature up to 450 and spoon the soured cream on top of the cheesecake…bake for 5 more minutes…

Remove from the oven and let it cool… then top with sliced strawberries and melted white chocolate. Stick her in the refrigerator to chill for about 2 hours… remove… and eat it… (preferably naked and in bed with someone sexy…)

Well that’s all from me! I’ll leave you with some obligatory shameless self promotion. (I just had a new single released… Wh0oo Hoo0o!). Expect another update once I get to Florida… I’m finally booking myself in to have a some new ink and will be dragging my bestest buddy Joe and his awesome camera along with to document the occasion. Yep…More pretty pictures and more bitching about jetlag.

Dance music’s reining princess of all things twisted returns to Lot49 with a follow up to her first solo release on the label, (Empty Vodka Bottles), which was unleashed on the dance scene last September.

‘Dirty Secrets’ is a naughty techno perversion of an original rock track taken from her Sex & Circuitry project album which was produced alongside guitarist Jim Davies, better known for his axe wielding in bands such as The Prodigy and Pitch Shifter.

Re-creating the original underground electro-rock anthem into something entirely different, and far more fucked up, Odissi takes back her lyrics and flawlessly transforms the initial idea into a brooding, industrial electro monster.

True to her signature sound, she once again injects her music with her sleazy and sultry spoken word vocals, this time in a poetic description of Soho’s vibrant red light district, transvestites, gay bars and seedy brothels.

On the Remix duties, Lot49 has appropriately called in one of the hottest names from Italy’s bubbling underground techno scene, Dyno. Equally known for his love of dark techy grooves, Dyno strips back the vocal and dubs it out, twisting the original into something that wouldn’t sound amiss as the soundtrack to an S&M Orgy. Sleazy and gritty synths roll along tight and driving drums and disorienting guitar stabs. Late night dancefloor headfuckery guaranteed.

For those like the tempo pushed a little harder there’ s also a remix by Hedflux who as of late has been creating quite a buzz with his fresh and distinctive flavor or cerebral tech-funk. In his remix of “Dirty Secrets” he stays true to his sound, drawing on energy from breaks, techno and psychedelic styles, resulting in a fusion of deep driving bass grooves, thumping drops and intricate neon synth-play.

Stalk Me:

You know small town life is starting to effect you in a very strange way when putting on an outfit made from items found in the kitchen drawer and posing in bondage photos with strategically positioned fruit becomes an acceptable form of afternoon entertainment.

I kid you not! 3 weeks into my self exile to the “Redneck Riviera” and my sanity is clearly starting to suffer.
*See photographic proof below*

… yep… told you.
That being said, I apologize if this blog reflects my current mental state. As usual my head is a mess of fabulous and fucked up thoughts made slightly more disorganized by the fresh air and the fact I’ve been spiking my coffee with booze every morning. Nothing like a few shots of Disaronno and enough caffeine to make a horse feel buzzed to kick start long days of doing absolutely nothing.
I could get used to this “life break” stuff… It’s nice ditching all your financial responsibilities, surrounding yourself in nature and living in your own little bubble of relaxation and creativity… even if it means getting eaten by mosquitos and learning to love thick southern accents all over again.

Its been an epic struggle against my newfound distaste for anything that involves me being productive … but I’ve pulled my finger out and managed to scrape together a new edition of Indecent Disclosure to bring you audio goodies, eyecandy and hopefully a few “lolz” as well in addition to some essential updates for those hardcore few who actually give a rats ass about what’s going on in my life / career at the moment.
That being said…

Hey Look, It’s a new DJ Mix.
*insert gasps of shock and disbelief here*
Yeah, I know… I hardly ever grace my fans with new DJ mixes… lucky for you guys, the mindless dribble and non-stop barrage of country and western on American FM radio has chipped away at my nerves enough to prompt me to put a mix together for my own in-car listening pleasure. Behold, a 60 minute compilation of easy on the ears tech house and techno… And if you listen all the way to track 12.. you can even catch a sneak peak of my next single on Lot49 (out April 5th!).
Download, turn it up and enjoy reading the rest of this blog.

This month’s Free Music Goodies come courtesy of Lot49 and U&A Recordings.

First Up via Lot49 we have Tony Senghore’s Remix of Meat Katie’s “Tension”
This track for some reason reminds me of my first experience on psychedelic mushrooms. Strange, unpredictable and disorientating. I’m not honestly sure what genre this falls under, but I do know that the stompy drums, quirky riffs and wild vocal processing put it straight to the top of this months guilty pleasure bedroom dance party playlist alongside Lady Ga Ga and Gogol Bordello. Download via the widget, and check out the rest of this heavy release package HERE

Next… is something both a bit cheeky and a bit filthy. Kind of like a cheerleading uniform and pair of 6 inch stilettos on a barely legal stripper… You know it’s wrong, but it still gets you hot regardless. This audio perversion comes via U&A recordings and is a dirty re-fix of Calvin Harris’ “Stars Come Out” by one of the hottest names in the tech funk game, Rektchords. Do I really need to say anymore? Pop your email addy into the widget and download the track… Just do it… you know it makes sense.

And now something for my fellow studio geeks. If you’re like me and spend more time getting intimate with your sequencer than with the opposite sex, you know how exciting it is to stumble across GOOD sample packs that are high quality and contain more useable sounds than filler content. Next month the production world will be hearing a new name in the sample pack game “The Sample Station.” I’ve been fortunate enough to catch some upfront sample pack promos and I can tell you know they’re some of the finest collections of sounds I’ve had the pleasure of working with. The website’s still under construction… but if you mosey on over to Twitter.com/Sample_Station you can be kept up to date and find information on how to subscribe to their mailing list to receive a free 200mb sample pack. You heard it here first folks. (And will thank me for it later no doubt)

And now an update for those of you who will be joining me in Austin Texas for a week of good music, partying and debauchery!
Im pleased to announce the official party info for the Lot49 Label Showcase on March 15th. *see below flyer*

Note that this is a free party, and to my knowledge this is a smallish venue and they’re expecting it to fill up super quick! If you’re coming out make sure you arrive early to avoid missing out!
The after-hours, which be announced in a few days. Watch this space, or follow me on Twitter to keep informed.
For those who cant make it these events will be broadcast live via Hypersonic Radio and of course… I’ll be filming and doing photocoverage of both events for an epic blog update in the future.

Well that about does it for me kids… Before I go I’d like to leave you with this golden youtube find…
Ya know… Having never been to a dubstep night myself, I’ve always found myself wondering how the hell one is supposed to dance to this crazy assed music…
All has been revealed… I totally get it now…

Enjoy the rest of your week

Greetings from the sunny (and much much warmer than the UK) Florida panhandle! =) I know it’s a bit early for another blog, but the slow country mornings have left this city girl feeling a bit bored. What better way to pass the long and quiet days spent exiled to the deep south than to waste it creatively. Yesterday I teamed up yet again with my absolute favorite photographer Joe Alonzo from Dijitil Photography based in Walton County, FL. We took our latest gothic fairy tale creation, Pirate Bunny to Eden Gardens, a very old and very large southern plantation house nestled away in the woods of Point Washington, for a day of freezing for the sake of art, and terrifying the locals. Catch Part 1 of “The Adventures of Pirate Bunny” below.

The silence was rich, and lustrous. it swept in off the bayou with the mid morning fog and decided to stay, filling the void with moist prickly air and the sweet sound of both everything and nothing, birds, and wind, and water.

I throw my head back and take it in. Sometimes I feel like the whole world is watching, pointing, laughing. There is the girl, who carries the breath of the dead on her neck as if it was a good luck charm.

It’s always here that your voice decides to haunt me, during Sunday mornings spent idle on the front porch.
your words reverberate in my conscience , causing tremors like tiny earthquakes at the core of my longing.

Here the rocking chair cradles me, it’s the only tangible comfort this place can offer, but I fear Louisiana is growing jealous, because with every day that passes my love, it becomes more and more evident… that I miss you.

Who here is planning on checking out SXSW this year? As you may have heard, the entire Lot49 crew will be invading Austin, Texas for a full week of gigs and showcases, hell bent on brining slamming techno and techfunk to the land of cowboys and concealed weapons. I’m very excited to announce that at present the kind people organizing the events for us have given me more creative control than anyone with an ounce of sanity should for the afterhours of the main Lot49 event. I’ll be performing a full live PA, and if I have my way, it’s going to be an all out fucked up bondage / fetish themed spectacular, go-go dancers… wild visuals… and filthy dirty sexy music! Texas be afraid… be very afraid.

That’s all for now… more updates in the near future.
Beatz and Kisses.

Wow! Someone please tell me it’s not February already! Where the hell did January go? The first month of the year absolutely flew by! I wish I could claim the saying ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ could be applied here, but unfortunately I think ‘Time flies when you spend every waking second glued to the computer working your ass off’ is the more appropriate wording.
Welcome to the February edition of Indecent Disclosure. Let’s Kick things off with my Single pick of the month…

Not that the other tracks in this release package aren’t blinding in their own individual rights (there’s 6 of them in total, quite possibly one of the most varied ‘something for everyone’ releases I’ve seen in a while), yes… they’re all great and well worth a listen, but I’ve decided to come here today, dear breakbeat lovers to spread the word about this little gem that really stood out to me while I was listening to it the other day.

I know I sometimes hate on breakbeat (what can I say.. after living with breaks for 9 years, I kind of have a love/hate relationship with the genre… which is understandable really, after nearly a decade I’d say I’m practically married to it!) I also know that Vandal can sometimes be viewed as a “on the fence” breakbeat artist sometimes dipping his toes into the Electro genre… but this!
this is quality!

Driving techy BREAKBEAT with some of the most polished production I’ve heard from MR. Vandal to date.. It kind of reminds me of an updated take on the ‘techy nuskool era’ from around 2003-2004.
No cheese, lush grooves, heavy drums…
If this is ANYTHING to go by.. I seriously cant wait to hear his forthcoming album!
GO HERE TO LISTEN/BUY IT IF YOU’VE NOT DONE SO ALREADY!

And if that’s not enough to make this release freaking awesome, Lot49 have kindly decided to give away the Fussy Boy Remix absolutely free for your listening pleasure! Grab it from Soundcloud:

Then go show your appreciation by giving it some lovin’ over on Hypem
Click Here and do it! You know it makes sense!

Every once in a while a producer comes along that makes you raise an eyebrow and go “Huh?” right before blowing your mind with clever and forward thinking music that is as refreshing to the ears as their non music personalities are to mind. Ladies and Gentlemen I give you Down Right Rude, Lot49’s newest Tech House Signing.
Armed with accordions and a years supply of canned vodka, this new duo are set to take over the music scene with their Baltic flavoured productions and their Borat-esque humour.
Check their first release, Sofia, which has already been picked up for Azuli’s Miami 2010 compilation and is due for release very soon on Lot49

A sampling of Down Right Rude’s trashy gypsy humour… pure twitter gold in a music scene where most artists with an online presence do nothing more than spew their own self promotional garbage:

“Hello the Sunday! This day I like much…..No more work in field…..This day I drink much Vodka and look at the womans….I get excite!”

“I make music today with my recorder. Accordion I play first. Second I play drum in kitchen. My wife not like the drum :(“

“Big lesson I have learn today! The lady she not like the man who cry like baby…..she want man like goat…..strong and simple!”
Follow Down Right Rude on twitter for more LOLs

BITCH 2.0

This month’s cause for bitching comes courtesy of the Spanish breakbeat scene. Now, if you’ve never had the pleasure (or mispleasure) of being an international artist booked to play there… let me start this by saying most of the stereotypes you hear about this country are in fact true. If you’ve not heard the stereotypes, let’s just say that Spanish rave promoters in general aren’t typically known for their high standards of professionalism. So much so that well known breakbeat act Stereo:Type decided to make this humorous video highlighting the vast cultural differences and way of doing business between promoters in Spain and those in the rest of the world. The Spanish response to this video has been nothing short of heated. Lovers of the broken beat have responded in mass in the form of hate mail, death threats, and online slander campaigns. If you don’t believe me, check the comments on the Youtube video…

[begin temporary break from an attempt of serious web journalism here]
OH COME ON?! Is Spain really so backwards and barbaric that the country has evolved socially in a way that has deprived all of its people of a sense of humour? Stereo:Type were simply making a humorous dig at BAD SPANISH PROMOTERS and the people of Spain are taking it as an insult on the ENTIRE COUNTRY. I find this so bizarre and “out there” that all I can think to say on the matter is a big, fat, highly confused WHAT THE FUCK?
[end temporary break from an attempt of serious web journalism]

To defend Stereo:Type and add weight to their argument, I’d like to submit a few of the many “nightmares” I’ve had while playing in this country.

Nightmare Gig #1
Threatened at knifepoint by a coked up club owner who decided he wasn’t going to pay any of the DJs that night

Nightmare Gig #2
Played the gig, Promoter disappeared when it was time to get paid… Had to get a taxi back to the hotel (on my own…at 4am…in a country where I can’t speak the language…) To add insult to injury I even had to get a taxi to the airport at 8am the next day because no one from the event answered their phones or turned up at the hotel to give me a ride.

Nightmare Gig #3
Promoter refused to drop me at the hotel, or pay a taxi from the restaurant to the hotel after dinner so that I could get some sleep, even though my set time wasn’t for 9 more hours. I opted for sleep and staying at the hotel. The Promoter phoned to tell me to get ready because they’re on the way to get me…. I wake up, get dressed, wait outside…. for 3 hours before someone turns up. Get to the club… But wait! It gets better! When I get to the club I can’t even play because the promoter didn’t provide the requested equipment…. Did anyone apologise for this epic series of fuck ups?… no.

If those three instances alone aren’t enough to make you consider never going back to this barbaric country… here’s a few reoccurring problems that that I’ve had to face…
For the sake of saving 25-50 Euros, promoters will happily make you travel to the farthest airport from you… and often fly you back to a different airport that you departed from (which causes all sorts of problems if you drove to the airport that day and never thought to check to see which airport you were returning to)

And if that isn’t enough air travel torture for you, 99% of flights come complete with inhumane departure times… you travel all day, work all night providing music for the party, you’re sweaty, sleep deprived, reek of dirty night club… But NOOOO… you don’t need sleep and a shower.. you can go straight to the airport and go straight back to England, to the airport that’s 100+ miles away from your house because a later flight time of course cost more money.

Ok, I know… promoting is a hard game and everyone has tight budgets, but when tickets are 25-40 Euros a head, and there’s 2000+ people at the event… I have a hard time believing that the promoters are too skint to cough up an extra hundred Euros or so to make their guest’s travel experience a little less daunting.

Now… there are bad promoters EVERYWHERE in the world, it’s not a phenomena that is solely restricted to the borders of Spain. But it’s hard to deny that the ratio of bad promoters to good promoters is greatly disproportionate. That’s not to say that I’ve not had a few fantastic gigs in Spain as well. Rave Art’s Summer Festival in Seville was one of the most professionally organized events I ever had the pleasure of playing at, and I think even the GOOD promoters in Spain wouldn’t deny that there are a lot of bad promoters in the country who tarnish the reputation that they try so hard to improve.
I am posting this after receiving a death threat myself simply for “LoL’ing” at this video on twitter. (I know right..WTF?) Do I honestly care if I ever play in Spain again? No…To be fair, I’d be kind of shocked if I got asked even prior to voicing my views on this matter as I no longer make or play the “balls to the wall, tear out breakbeat” that the coked up, shirtless, chavtastic masses of Spain want to hear.

Hats off to Stereo:type for saying publicly what 99% of the DJs who travel from England to play in Spain have been thinking to themselves for years. I would wish for this to bring about some positive change in the country at last, but unfortunately I don’t think it will. That being said, lets hope that whoever is representing Stereo:Type at this year’s Breakspoll Awards (an event in London popular with Spanish partygoers) has sufficient security booked and a Kevlar vest to wear on the night!

Since it’s February, the month where love and romance gets crammed down our throats by card and chocolate companies, I’ve decided to dedicate this month’s Eye Candy found art feature to some of the most talented fetish photographers lurking in the shadows of the internet. I’ve always had a soft spot for fetish photography, and a respect for anyone brazen enough to capture and interpret our darkest desires and sexual urges from behind the lens of a camera. Here’s to all those stick a middle finger up to traditional romance during this month where we are encouraged to embrace our inner Romeo and Juliet characteristics. For all those that prefer their love bound in latex and chained to the bed, these images are dedicated to you.

Well that’s all from me for the time being. I’d love to stay around and ramble some more but Tonight is my last night in the UK before heading out to the states for a lengthy pre-SXSW holiday. That’s right… in case you haven’t heard it anywhere else already…I’ll be invading Austin Texas for a week, alongside Meat Katie, Dylan Rhymes, Lee Coombs and Kid Blue. Until then shall be I’ll be monging on the beach enjoying the weather somewhere much much warmer than England. =)
I’ll be back next month with a rockin’ tan and a full report of the Lot49 SXSW invasion. Until then, I wish you all a fabulous month. Beatz and Kisses
